THE CODES: 

Over a year ago I did a rite of passage with the intention of healing, to open up my heart and for the floodgates of poetry to open and flow through. 

Lo and behold, for most of my time there, I couldn’t write to save my life. 

I jokingly share that if in that time, my life depended on writing i would have wrote the word “ fuck” a million times. 

Half way through my journey, I had a vision of a little girl drawing near a picnic table. 

She was quiet and so deeply immersed in what she was creating. 

I sobbed. 

It was as if her drawings were clearing emotions in my body, activating wisdom and passion in my heart. 

The next day, I took my flashcards and gold markers that I took with me to “ write poems,” sat at a picnic table on the land of my rite of passage… and I drew. 

For six hours I sat there, crying and drawing. 

I couldn’t tell you exactly what I was feeling, but each code awakened something in me. 

A dear soul brother came up , saw my drawings and said “ i didn’t know you were an artist”  

“I didn’t either,” I replied. 

I’ve been creating ever since. 

For any time I didn’t have the words to express. 

I made art and the wisdom came through. 

To follow my dreams. 

To trust the passages of life. 

To remember that liberation is yours, mine and ours.  

And so much more.  

It is such an honor to share a snippet of this work with you in this limited edition. In a way, this is me cheering that little girl on – letting her know her art has moved mountains of resistance in my path and heart.  

In a way this is me, sharing a part of my heart. 

I surrender, I smile, I give thanks for this gift. 

THERE ARE NO LIMITS IN THE ART OF SOUL EXPRESSION.
