AN OPEN LETTER TO FEAR: Paola Ucelo
Dear fear,
My beloved friend.
I love you for keeping me safe.
I love you for the way you have taught me to be mindful.
I thank you for the way you have taught me to discern.
Fear, my dear friend.
As I’ve grown, I see you have transformed
Into the gatekeeper you were meant to be.
You now ask me “ show me i am not bigger than your heart”
So that I may step forward and take the seat of the woman I came here to be.
Instead of telling me “ it's your way, no way, or this is the end"
You now show me that I am only small when you are greater than me.
I now know we are the same.
You are a reflection of how much I allow my love and heart to take the lead.
My dear friend,
I am here to remind you that, you and I are forever safe.
Not because we are protected.
But because we are both inherently free.
See long my friend,
I will see you at the next gate.
What if instead of trying to get rid of fear, we began to walk with it as a guide?
Maybe the moment you pull up a chair for it to join you at the table, it transforms before your eyes.
